This is the one holiday of the year where people who don't drink a lot end up drinking a lot. And usually it's something green or Irish. But you can have a sophisticated St. Patrick's Day too if that's more your style. That's the great thing about Toronto - there really is something for everyone. Calling it "Canada's Largest St. Patrick's Day Festival," Carlsberg is transforming Brassaii into Party Central on Saturday, starting at 11am. There are four time slots availalble - 11am-2pm, 3-5pm, 7-9pm and 10:30pm-12am. No doubt it will be epic. Whether you remember it all however, is an entirely different matter.
While the rest of the city is downing green ales, wouldn't you like some food to go with your brew? On Tuesday, March 17th, Mill Street Brewpub is hosting a St. Patrick’s Day Brewmaster’s Dinner. The 5-course meal features corned beef poutine, smoked cod fritters, warm radish salad, braised short rib, and espresso cheesecake. Pairings will be lead by host Joel Manning. Tickets are available only in advance - $59.99 taxes and gratuities
If you'd like to get the party started, Fynn’s of Temple Bar is the place for you. They're holding over a week of celebrations, including an annual Irish whiskey dinner on the 9th, an East Coast Celtic Party on the 11th and on St. “Practice” Day (March 16th), get a pint of Alexander Keith's for $4, as well as special appetizer and cocktail prices in the evening. St. Patrick's Week? I think they're on to something here...
