It is situated inside a provincially-designated historical site circa 1912. The French cuisine matches the restaurant’s old world charms. They have the best French onion soup in town, and some killer jumbo shrimp with garlic butter sauce. There’s also Alberta AAA fillet mignon, pork tenderloin medallions and daily fish preparations on the menu. You’ll be so stuffed you might want to reserve a room in the inn upstairs.

It’s a quaint little bistro situated inside La Cité Francophone. You’ll find some great French fare, such as steak frites, soup à l’oignon, coq au vin and more. The menu changes regularly, but the warm and inviting ambiance always stays the same, regardless of the season.
All the staples of French cuisine are done at The Marc and are done well. For starters, try the escargots (yes, we’ve all seen Pretty Woman but they’re also tasty little suckers) or the house-made pâté. For the entrée, the duck is perfectly tender and juicy, while the grilled bavette is rare and delicious.
This spot serves up old world charm with their warm and inviting décor, not to mention a slew of savoury crêpes. Of course, that’s not everything on their menu. The country French entrées include duck confit à l’orange, chicken cordon bleu, mussels Marseillaise and lamb shanks Provençals.
A hidden gem indeed, this little French bistro prepares some incredible fare, including smoked salmon, magret de canard (duck breast), veal medallions, shrimps “thermidor” and rack of lamb. Gini’s will have you saying “ooh la la” in no time.
