Who’d have thought Edmonton would have a vibrant French community? Well, ‘tis true. Francophones are thriving in this cold metropolis, and these restaurants are here to show that you don’t have to be French to enjoy the cuisine. Alors mes amis, bon appétit!
La Boheme Restaurant-Bed & Breakfast
6427 112 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5W 0N9It is situated inside a provincially-designated historical site circa 1912. The French cuisine matches the restaurant’s old world charms. They have the best French onion soup in town, and some killer jumbo shrimp with garlic butter sauce. There’s also Alberta AAA fillet mignon, pork tenderloin medallions and daily fish preparations on the menu. You’ll be so stuffed you might want to reserve a room in the inn upstairs.
Manor Casual Bistro
10109 125 Street NW, Edmonton, AB T5N 1S7Standout items include spinach salad, baked goat cheese, coq au vin and duck leg confit. Really, is there anything else to say except that it’s perfect food in a perfect setting? Enjoy French cuisine in an century-old mansion on High Street.

The menu changes regularly, but the warm and inviting ambiance always stays the same, regardless of the season.
The Marc Restaurant

For starters, try the escargots (yes, we’ve all seen Pretty Woman but they’re also tasty little suckers) or the house-made pâté. For the entrée, the duck is perfectly tender and juicy, while the grilled bavette is rare and delicious.
The Creperie
111-10220 103 St NW, Edmonton, AB T5J 0Y8This spot serves up old world charm with their warm and inviting décor, not to mention a slew of savoury crêpes. Of course, that’s not everything on their menu. The country French entrées include duck confit à l’orange, chicken cordon bleu, mussels Marseillaise and lamb shanks Provençals.
Gini's Restaurant
10706 142 St NW, Edmonton, AB T5N 2P7A hidden gem indeed, this little French bistro prepares some incredible fare, including smoked salmon, magret de canard (duck breast), veal medallions, shrimps “thermidor” and rack of lamb. Gini’s will have you saying “ooh la la” in no time.
